Hong Kong Baptist University began offering courses in journalism, radio and television, and public relations and advertising in 1968 through the Department of Communication. In 1991, it expanded to become today's School of Communication.
Today, the School comprises the Department of Journalism, Department of Communication Studies, and Department of Interactive Media, offering a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Over the past years, the School of Communication has nurtured over 22,000 communication professionals.
At the postgraduate level, the School offers the following four taught master degree programmes:
- Master of Arts in Communication
- Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies
- Master of Science in AI and Digital Media
- Master of Social Science in Media Management
The School also offers research programmes that lead to the award of MPhil and PhD degrees.
